Visiting the Sick

The Sick and housebound of the parish are visited weekly by extra-ordinary ministers of Holy Communion who bring the Blessed Sacrament with them. They are visited by the priests upon request.

As well as visiting sick and housbound in their own homes we also regularly visit the following hospitals and nursing homes:

  • Carter Bequest Hospital and Assesment Centre
  • Oaklea Nursing Home
  • Ascot Nursing Home
  • Loxleigh Nursing Home
  • St Mary’s Nursing Home
  • Linthorpe Nursing Home

Patients in Teesside Hospice are cared for by the priests.

The work of these extra-ordinary ministers is at the very heart of our existence as a parish. Thanks to their generosity we are able to reach out to the vulnerable and needy of out community and ensure they continue to receive The Lord.

Their work is co-ordinated by Peter Grainger and Robert Hartness. To arrange a visit for a family member or freind residing in the parish click on the links in the contact us page.
